The 49 Drawings

These drawing are all 1'x1' connected to make a 7'x7' piece. The theme of my piece was exploring distance by location. One corner had me in it, and the other my sister. At the time she was in Cambodia and I was in the USA. The closer you get to the dividing horizontal line the more similar the shared experience, like pigeons, taxies, and coffee. If folded horizontally the piece reflects the same topic, but across the world. For example, the USA has a president so I drew a podium, but Cambodia has a king so I drew the kings outfit. These each took about an hour and were done in charcoal pastels.
